'KIM DO HEE does not organize or interpret
the sensations left behind
in an age of excess and fatigue.
Instead, she lets them ring,
burst, and remain as stains.
Chanting the Hen’s Dream
is a merciless song sung
by a body that endures through sensation,
and a vibrating phantom pain
and rhythm left behind
by an era of emotional and informational excess.'
KIM DO HEE, 2025

Chanting the Hen’s Dream 2025
Variable installation; reassembled hangers, clothing, scarf, stockings, stone, sound (randomized loop)
A sound edited from familiar notification tones is concealed within the piled garments and plays in randomized loops. Dispersed throughout the space, the sound forms a non-deterministic rhythm across the installation, evoking a restless chorus.
Egg-sized stones are inserted into the stockings, introducing weight and tension to the hanger structures.
